How to Book Your Dream Riding Holiday in Africa

Booking a horse safari in Africa is more than planning a trip. It is the start of a real adventure. Picture cantering beside zebra, riding through untouched wilderness, and ending each day around a warm fire with good stories and even better company. Whether you are booking your first horse riding holiday or your fifth horseback safari, our team is here to make everything simple.

We specialise in creating tailor made riding holidays that mix authentic adventure with comfort and style. From the moment you contact us, you will have a safari specialist guiding you through the entire process. We will match you with the right horse safari, help with the details, and shape an experience that feels seamless and unforgettable. Tell us what you dream of, and we will help bring it to life. Follow the steps below and soon you will be saddling up for your African horse riding adventure.

Start Your Booking Journey in Six Easy Steps

Step 1: Fill in the Form

Your journey starts with a few simple details. Fill in our enquiry form or send us a quick message on social media. This gives us a clear idea of the horse safari you want. The more information you share, the better we can customise your horse riding holiday.

Tell us about your riding experience, who you are travelling with, and when you want to go. Let us know if you are after bucket list moments like cantering beside giraffes, or if you prefer slow rides that let you enjoy the scenery. You can also combine your horse safari with other experiences such as game drives, gorilla trekking or a visit to Victoria Falls. This first step helps us understand your preferences so we can start shaping the best possible safari for you.

Step 2: Chat with a Safari Specialist

After you send your details, one of our horse safari specialists will get in touch. We usually start with an email that contains a few hand picked ideas that match your interests. We also enjoy speaking with you on a call. It helps us understand what you are looking for and gives you a chance to ask questions.

Sometimes the ride that looks perfect online is not the one that truly suits your riding style or fitness level. Talking it through helps us refine your horse safari options. We can also discuss other African destinations or add on adventures like gorilla trekking or visiting Victoria Falls. Together, we will create your ideal African horse riding holiday.

Step 3: Secure Your Dates

Once we have helped you choose the right horse safari, we will send a personalised email with your invoice and a detailed destination guide. To confirm your booking, you will pay a 30 percent deposit. This secures your place and locks in your dates.

This is also the perfect time to arrange your travel insurance. Once your deposit is paid, your horse safari is officially confirmed and everything suddenly feels very real.

Step 4: Travel Advice & Support

From this point on, we will guide you through the rest of your planning. You will receive reminders for your balance payment, plus useful travel advice to make everything easy. We will ask for a few details, including your personal information, emergency contacts, and flight times.

If you need help with visas, vaccinations, flights or packing for your horse riding holiday, we are always here to help. Think of us as your travel partners. We take care of the practical details so you can stay focused on the excitement of your upcoming horseback safari in Africa.

Step 5: Pack Your Bags

Before you start packing your jodhpurs and cleaning your riding boots, check that the basics are sorted. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after travel. Confirm any required visas and double check your travel insurance.

We will send a packing list created specifically for horse riding holidays and horseback safaris in Africa. On safari, comfort always comes first. Choose neutral colours like khaki, green, brown, grey or muted yellow. Navy, black and soft blues are also great. Keep bright colours and whites for relaxing in camp or at your lodge.

Pack your comfortable riding boots, a ventilated riding helmet, sunscreen, and your phone for capturing those unforgettable moments. Each item helps you feel prepared for your African horse safari.

Step 6: Ride, Explore & Return Again

Just before your departure, we will send a final bon voyage email with last minute tips. Then it is time for the adventure of a lifetime. You will ride across open plains, spot wildlife from horseback, and explore Africa in a way few travellers ever experience.

Whether you are riding in Botswana, cantering through the desert in Namibia, exploring the plains of Kenya or enjoying a luxury horse riding holiday in South Africa, every moment becomes a memory you will keep forever. When you return home, you will join the African Horse Safaris community with access to last minute offers, hosted rides and loyalty discounts for your next trip.

Because once you have felt the magic of a horse riding safari in Africa, you will want to return again and again.
